Condition Assessment and Monitoring
Kenik engaged Renovo (branded Medal Constructions at the time of completion) to complete a forensic inspection, engineering report and provide strain monitoring services across multiple slab construction joints. 

Following the inspection, it was concluded that the joints had gripped onto each other, causing sections of concrete to crack during the curing/shrinkage stage of the green slab. The construction joints were propped, and Renovo installed 3 crack gauges across the cracked sections. The intent of the structural monitoring was to determine if the slab was still shrinking, and when to complete remediation works across all locations. 

The monitoring solution enabled Kenik to continue works around the areas of concern, and to receive alerts should the cracked sections experience significant levels of strain. After 3 months of monitoring Renovo deemed that the slab had completed the majority of its shrinkage and that the cracked concrete sections could be removed and remediated.
